Individual Therapy

“Meanings are not determined by situations, but we determine ourselves by the meanings we give to situations.” — Alfred Adler

Accepting New Clients —

Therapy is a space for you to…

Pause

The modern lifestyle doesn’t often allow us time to take a moment and just be. We are constant doers—going to work, checking our emails, responding to texts, hitting the gym, paying our bills, and hoping that once we’re done meeting life’s demands, we will finally be happy...

In therapy, you have the space and permission to take a moment and focus on things that truly matter.

Connect

Therapy is about building and nurturing a relationship with yourself and others. When you are disconnected from your needs and pain, you can feel stuck and anxious.

In this safe and sacred space, you are allowed to sit with your feelings, express your thoughts, and connect with your whole, authentic self.

Heal

Everyone faces internal turbulence and negotiations. Taking the time to honor and reconcile with your pain and insecurities will allow you to be more compassionate and accepting toward yourself and others.

Therapy provides a brave space for you to acknowledge, understand, validate, and transform yourself.

My Therapeutic Approach

The core of my therapeutic work centers on the theme of authenticity. Through our intersectional experiences, we all cultivate our own unique sets of “rules” for survival—these can sometimes be limiting and isolating.

  • Existential therapy focuses on free will, self-determination, and the search for meaning in life. It focuses on concepts such as freedom, responsibility, death, and the meaning of life.

  • Psychodynamic therapy involves facilitating a deeper understanding of one's emotions and other mental processes. It works to help people gain greater insight into how they feel and think. It emphasizes on one’s psychological roots of emotional suffering.

  • Humanistic therapy focuses on a person’s individual nature and emphasizes the importance of being your true, authentic self in order to lead a fulfilling life.

  • Narrative therapy is a form of counseling that separates people from their perceived problems. It helps clients identify their voice and values, and use them to confront their current and future problems.

  • Adlerian therapy is a psychoeducation approach that is both goal-oriented and humanistic. It emphasizes an individual’s striving for success, connectedness with others, and their contributions to society as hallmarks of mental health.

  • Multicultural counseling is a practice that acknowledges an individual’s unique intersectionality, which includes various aspects such as race, gender, socioeconomic background, religion, and other parts of their identity.

“Transitions, big or small, are rarely straightforward. They require abandoning the parts of ourselves that feel safe and familiar. It is a massive task to intentionally choose change over comfort. But it taught me to trust myself more and embrace the shifts.”
