Consultation & Prescreening

Before our first session, I will offer a free 10-15 minute initial consultation. It is a best practice and service that many clinicians offer so that we can discuss your therapeutic goals and clarify any questions you might have about the therapeutic process. During this time, we will decide together whether we are a compatible fit.

To prepare for this consultation, be ready to answer the following questions:

  • Are you currently experiencing a mental health crisis or have a history of hospitalization, mental health emergencies, self-harm, etc.?

  • What brought you to therapy?

  • Have you been to therapy before? What worked and what didn’t?

  • Why are you seeking help? Why now?

First Session/Intake Session

The first session will take place within a week of our consultation, where we will begin establishing our working rapport. Typically, I will begin by going through our practice’s policies and clarify any questions you may have for me. Then, I will begin to ask you questions that will help me conceptualize your day-to-day life, relationships, work, mental health history, and your family of origin if time permits.

*Please note that your intake/first session will remain pending and will not take place until I receive all of your signed documentation.

Cancellation

Should you need to cancel any session, you have 48 hours from the time of your scheduled appointment to notify me (via email, phone call, or voicemail). You will be charged a full-session fee if you do not provide a 48-hour notice of cancellation.

Scheduling

Similar to any relationship, the foundation of trust within a therapeutic relationship takes time and consistency to build. With that in mind, be ready to attend standing/reoccurring weekly appointments!

Pricing/Payment

Individual sessions: $180/45 minute session

Couples sessions: $220/60-minute session or $280/75-minute session

We accept cash, PayPal, Venmo, Zelle, or Square payments. Regardless of your preferred form of payment, a credit card will be required to be on file. Generally, I will bill for your session on the morning of your scheduled appointment, regardless of the time of the appointment.

Out-of-Network Insurance Benefits

I am an out-of-network provider. What this means is that I can provide Superbills once a month for clients who have and wish to use their out-of-network benefits. Please call your insurance company and check if clinical services are covered. Some questions you might ask include:

  • Do I have "out-of-network" mental health insurance benefits?

  • What is my deductible, and has it been met?

  • What is my "co-insurance"?

  • How many sessions per year does my health insurance cover?

  • What is the coverage amount per session?

  • Is approval required from my primary care doctor?

In the instance where your out-of-network benefits cover mental health care, you are still responsible for payment on the morning of your session, and once you submit your claims, your insurance will reimburse your expenses.

Sliding Scale

I dedicate a number of slots on my caseload to clients who are faced with financial hardship. Please reach out to me so we can further discuss what options are available for you!
